TAP Electrical Contracting Service, Inc. (TAP Electric) is an electrical contractor with a reputation for excellence, proudly serving the five boroughs of New York City and Nassau and Suffolk counties on Long Island since 1969.
One of TAP Electric’s first projects was to renovate the Statue of Liberty, updating Lady Liberty’s torch to keep it burning bright. Since then, TAP Electric has worked with many public agencies including New York City Transit (NYCT), Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ), NYS and NYC Department of Transportation (DOT), Triboro Bridge and Tunnel Authority (TBTA), Long Island Railroad (LIRR), Metro North Railroad (MNR) and the Dormitory Authority of the state of New York (DASNY).
Over the past several years, the majority of TAP Electric’s work has been with the various entities that comprise the MTA. Many of the contracts completed for the MTA included heavy emphasis on power and communications work.
