Since 1991, volunteer-driven Shepherd’s Clinic has been an innovator in providing health care for the uninsured. We provide comprehensive health care for those who cannot afford commercial insurance and do not qualify for government assistance. These services are available through hundreds of dedicated volunteers. Patients are asked to donate the equivalent of one hour’s wage for an office visit or $9.00 if they are currently unemployed. All clinic patients (ages 19–64) fall under 200% of poverty and most are either working or live in a household with an employed individual.
Shepherd's Clinic is an integrative and patient-centered healthcare setting where patients receive interdisciplinary care including primary care, lab work, nutrition consults, massage, acupuncture, and behavioral health appointments, yoga classes, and smoking cessation sessions from volunteer providers who benefit from the chance to practice in a multidisciplinary and patient-centered setting.
We are always looking for volunteers to help us meet the growing demands for our services. Every position in the clinic is either filled by a volunteer or touches directly on the work of volunteers. Our volunteers schedule appointments, provide medical care and wellness services, and assist with the administration of the clinic.
