Paralympics New Zealand (PNZ) is recognised by the International Paralympic Committee as the National Paralympic Committee for New Zealand. The organisation was founded in 1968 and has a rich history of performance at the Paralympic Games since first attending the Tel Aviv 1968 Paralympic Games in Israel. At the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games the New Zealand Paralympic Team successfully defended its title of 1st in the world for medals won per capita, won at London 2012.
