The Academy of Realist Art (ARA) is an ARC (Art Renewal Center) certified institution that offers a unique teaching environment where students learn classical drawing and painting skills based on 19th-century European atelier techniques. We have achieved international success in helping artists of all levels achieve their goals. The ARA approach is designed to strengthen a student’s understanding of how the masters created their own works. These principles provide the academic foundation for the beginner and experienced artists alike to gain proficiency in any artistic pursuit of their choosing. Students can join us for one of our workshops taught by our instructors. We offer individualized feedback to suit all skill levels. Students will further their insight into the areas of life drawing, portrait, cast, and still life. In addition, ARA hosts sessions with guest lecturers covering a variety of subject matter throughout the year. We can address the needs of students with any amount of experience. No portfolio or previous experience is required.
