The House of Music is the home of musical adventures, a personal connection to the world of sound in an environment that redefines the existing concept of cultural spaces, inside and out. We offer music-related activities in a variety of different formats, through exhibitions, concerts and education. The designer of the House of Music, Sou Fujimoto envisioned an extravagant, modern building. He drew inspiration from both nature and music itself, so both sources are evident in every detail of the house: the trademark “floating” roof was inspired by waves, being the visual image of vibrating sound. Fujimoto has also placed great emphasis on breaking down the boundaries between nature and the built environment. As a result you feel as if you are still strolling in the park, while already entering the building.
