The Philadelphia Atoms were the original Philadelphia soccer team from 1973. They played in the NASL between 1973 and 1976, winning the NASL championship in 1973. In 1976 the Atoms called time on operation and would return 41 years later.
2017 saw the Atoms return as a member of The ASL (The American Soccer League), where the team will look to rebuild and hope to continue the Atoms legacy.
In conjunction with The ASL objectives, the Atoms are building to create a platform for young American players to play at a higher level and the opportunity of international exposure.
The Philadelphia Atoms also look to give back to the community and will shortly be launching youth programs and developing grassroots relationships with local youth soccer organisations, offering development programs, camps and clinics.
