ActivLives is a charity that delivers a wide range of activities in ‘hard pressed’ areas in Ipswich and East Suffolk, supporting and motivating marginalised groups of people, particularly people with mental ill health, older people 50+, people living with Dementia and their Carers and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities, to improve their own health and well-being; keep people connected and reduce social isolation and loneliness.
We also work with younger people with intellectual disability and Autism, to enable them to participate in inclusive sport and compete in Special Olympics competitions across the country.
We provide access to learning, training and volunteering opportunities to enable people to gain skills, qualifications and help them find meaningful employment with our 3 community garden project.
We also have 2 lunch clubs, 11 Better Balance (Falls Prevention) Hubs, a weekly Hub, Friday Friends, to support people living with Dementia and their Carers, 3 community singing groups and a weekly carers / former carers support group.
