SOS Children Villages in Syria was established in 1975, and the first village was launched in 1981 in Damascus. The Association is a nonprofit and nongovernmental, independent, social development association provides consistent family care and safe homes for children in need. The Association guarantees the protection of their rights and is committed to help those who had lost their homes, their safety and their families because of different circumstances. Moreover, the association works according to the international standards and it is a member of international federation of SOS Children Villages located in Innsbruck, Austria. The SOS Children’s Villages are available in 135 countries.
SOS Children Villages in Syria carry out group of programs which is related to child care activities, among these programs are: family strengthening program (FSP), Child Sponsorship Program, and Emergency Relief Program (ERP).
