The Millennium Institute (MI) is a nonprofit, non-governmental organization passionate about improving the welfare of individuals on every continent by working with stakeholders to meet the challenges of sustainable development.
We help decision makers apply systems thinking to create a more sustainable, equitable, and peaceful global society. Our unique approach maps integrated policy options across the sustainability framework for environmental, social and economic benefits to society.
We have assisted more than 40 nations and regional groups through the process of identifying goals and strategies that offer all people access to food, water, health care, education, and equal opportunities for women and men.
SERVICES
Our work typically fits into these categories:
1. Strategic Planning Consulting
Through Country Strategic Planning Support, we work collaboratively with our clients to adapt existing strategies, or create new comprehensive strategies to achieve the SDGs. We guide our clients throughout the process of conceptualizing their key sustainability challenges, engaging with stakeholders to develop a shared understanding of challenges and desired outcomes, and formulating strategies to reach these outcomes.
2. Modeling and Research
Our research team builds integrated System Dynamics models to conduct systemic analysis of a wide range of sustainability issues, including ecological agriculture and food security, green economy, conservation, health, population dynamics, and more.
3. Education
Our sponsored workshops give policy makers and practitioners the ability to use systems modeling as a way of understanding of the complex and integrated nature of sustainability. Our workshops are customized to the clients’ needs and range from single or multi-day introductory workshops, as well as pre-designed advanced trainings for professionals who want more in-depth understanding of the theory and practice of System Dynamics-based integrated planning.
