For 135 years, the Conrad Schmitt Studios has decorated and restored hundreds of churches, theatres, hotels, train stations, and other buildings of architectural and historical significance throughout the U.S.
Our staff of artists and craftsmen is skilled at various techniques and procedures, including the investigation and documentation of original decorative schemes, gilding, glazing, marbleizing, and stenciling.
Conrad Schmitt Studios has created and restored stained glass windows throughout the country, specializing in the conservation of windows by artists such as Tiffany, La Farge, Mayer of Munich, O'Shaughnessy, and McCulley and Miles. The CSS team of experienced artisans subscribe to the highest standards in all facets of the craft, including conditions assessment, glass conservation, the replication of painting on glass, re-leading, resizing, frame rehabilitation, and protective glazing.
The Studio can assist projects in the early stages by providing sketches, samples, and fundraising materials, which help communicate the project's vision and, in turn, generate enthusiasm and funds. The Studio enjoys working with owners, architects, interior designers, and contractors to create the best projects in terms of function, longevity, and aesthetics.
