UNC Campus Recreation works closely with Exercise and Sport Science (EXSS) and Student Affairs at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. We offer a variety of programs and events to help all Tar Heels Stay Active. Staying active includes a wide variety of things, playing sports, working out, dancing, painting, being outdoors, making new friends and more!
Our mission is to provide a diverse and intentional recreational program in a safe, inclusive, and accessible environment which enhances the social, mental and physical well-being of the entire University community.
We have 14 indoor and outdoor facilities, plus shared facilities across campus. Some of our facilities include the on-campus pools, rock climbing walls, recreation facilities, basketball courts, turf fields, and the Outdoor Education Center. Our activities and programs include Fitness & Wellness, Aquatics, Sport Clubs, Intramural Sports, Climbing, Expeditions, and Challenge Course.
We are also the University's largest student employer with over 300 students working every semester! We offer flexible scheduling, paid training, job promotions, and professional development opportunities.
