Local to Global Protection (L2GP) is an initiative of organisations and individuals from the humanitarian sector pushing for institutional change and transfer of power to people and communities affected by crisis.
L2GP was founded in 2009 to research how people organise to survive, protect themselves and recover when facing crises. The survivor and community-led crisis response (sclr) approach grew out of this research and offers a way also for external actors to support and resource individuals and communities as they respond to crises, whether sudden onset or protracted.
Individuals and communities are the first and last responders to crises, and we are committed to locally-led crisis response which strengthens the scope, scale and impacts of autonomous self-help and mutual aid present in every crisis context.
