Unlimited is an arts commissioning body that supports, funds and promotes new work by disabled artists for UK and international audiences. Our mission is to commission extraordinary work from disabled artists that will change and challenge the world.
Our Values:
- We are Unlimited.
- We value artists.
- We are radical.
- We value equity.
Our mission and values are for the board, staff, freelancers, artists, allies and others with whom we connect. We will ensure they are at the heart of what we do and how we do it. In 2022 we will:
- Commission disabled artists/companies through an open application process for a variety of Partner Awards (co-commissions with organisations throughout the arts sector) plus undertake some strategic commissioning.
- Develop the skills of our current disabled artists, our alumni (those we have shortlisted or funded before) and others, plus the organisations we are working with on commissions, our allies (organisations who share the same goals as us).
- Support disabled artists to make the work they want to make, pushing the sector and society to improve access and inclusion and redeveloping our own evaluation and support structures for artists.
- Connect up disabled artists and organisations throughout the sector, across the UK and internationally.
- Change the sector for the better through resources, campaigns and advocacy.
We place artists needs at the heart of our decision making, our planning and our delivery. We know that they are often the least well treated with regards to pay, conditions and opportunities. We are working to change this. We employ them, we commission them and we depend on them.
We do this by acknowledging the power structures in place in our industry and our wider society, actively working to shift and rebalance.
We are transparent, fallible, open and learning. Committed to sharing our failures and reviewing best practice to ensure others can too.
