HeroWear is a wearable technology company that is developing a suite of assistive clothing solutions that reduce fatigue and physical strain on workers. Their first product, the Apex, was developed in conjunction with the Center for Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology at Vanderbilt University.
The first exosuit built from the ground up for both men and women, the Apex is a back-assist exosuit that is designed to reduce strain on the back while fitting like a comfortable piece of clothing. It features a patent-pending dual-mode technology to make it easy to turn the back assistance on or off, allowing it to be used in nearly any work situation. The textile-based design is modular, allowing for over 50 possible combinations so that the fit and the amount of support provided is perfect for anyone in any job.
