The UAW Retiree Medical Benefits Trust administers health care benefits for General Motors, Chrysler, and Ford UAW retirees, and their dependents. When the Trust launched in January 2010, it was the largest non-governmental purchaser of retiree health care in the United States, covering over 860,000 members. Since then, the Trust has focused on enhancing benefits to provide every member the opportunity to achieve their best quality of life and ensuring the continuation of funds for these benefits.
