The Research Institute for Automotive Engineering and Powertrain Systems Stuttgart (FKFS) was founded in 1930 as an independent institute. It's a public-law foundation located in Stuttgart, Baden-Wuerttemberg, and over the years it has established itself as an engineer service provider and partner of the international automotive and supplier industry.
About 180 highly qualified and motivated staff provide research and development projects in the fields of automotive engineering, automotive mechatronics and automotive powertrain. Numerous highly specialized test benches and facilities (different driving simulators, engine test benches and windtunnels) as well as self-developed measurement, testing and simulation procedures are used to solve complex and challenging research tasks.
