OUR PHILOSOPHY
Our extensive training and research, as well as our personal experiences, have led us on a profound journey. Aspen Network, the result of our quest, offers a unique perspective on the potential for progress for teens and young adults with Asperger's Syndrome and Nonverbal Learning Disorder.
As parents of a son diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome, we have always been, and continue to be, active participants in our son's development. Faced with the reality of of his diagnosis, we embraced the challenge head-on. Over time, our challenges evolved into a positive philosophy that guides every aspect of our programs today.
Although our son's diagnosis was a catalyst, urging us to focus on this frequently misunderstood and often ignored disability, we have always had deep awareness of the distinct differences and needs among individuals. Treating each participant as an individual is key to success at Aspen Network's Team Camp and Team Living. At camp or living in small-group settings, our family atmosphere gives each individual the opportunity to grow and provides the tools to learn life-altering social and independence skills.
Our programs truly are a group effort, and this team spirit is what sets Aspen Network's programs apart from others. By providing a positive and encouraging coaching style to both Aspen Network Team Camp and Team Living, participants learn in a nurturing and safe environment. Gaining the confidence to meet life's challenges through collaboration and leadership are fundamental to the success of each individual. At Aspen Network, our focus is always on the potential for positive growth.
