SWZ|Maritime, formerly known as Schip en Werf de Zee, has been the leading Dutch brand for maritime professionals for over 75 years.
The magazine brings its readers up to date on the state-of-the-art of the maritime industry with a strong focus on technological advances and sharing knowledge. Fields of interest include but are not limited to shipbuilding, offshore, naval vessels, maritime regulation, inland shipping, ports, maritime infrastructure, navigation, dredging, yachts, maritime education and career development, maritime research and maritime innovation.
SWZ|Maritime is a publication of the Schip en Werf de Zee Foundation. The participants of this Foundation are the KNVTS (Koninklijke Nederlandse Vereniging van Technici op Scheepvaartgebied/Royal Netherlands Society for Marine Technolog) and the Foundation de Zee. The members of the Foundation represent the KNVTS, KVNR, NVKK, Nautilus NL, KNMI, MARIN and NMT. As such, SWZ|Maritime is a powerful maritime platform that builds on and has access to a strong maritime community.
The website www.swzonline.nl offers news from the maritime industry as well as additions to the articles published in SWZ|Maritime and can take the form of articles, pictures, videos and downloadable documents. Subscribers can also benefit from the SWZ-Akerboom Archive which contains all issues of SWZ|Maritime dating back to 1919.
