The Lutheran College Washington Semester, also known as LCWS, was founded in 1986 and is a small, personalized study-away program for undergraduate students. Students studying with LCWS live, study, and intern while earning academic credit from their respective colleges. Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters are offered, with classes being taught in the Fall and the Spring. Students attend internships on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. On Fridays, we coordinate DC Experience programming to immerse our students in historical, cultural, and community experiences unique to DC through curated field trips and events.
