The Indonesian Employers’ Association (APINDO) is the Indonesian’s representative of business world, established on January 31st 1952, under leadership of the APINDO’s National Board (DPN) headquarter in Jakarta, APINDO Provincial Board (DPP) in 34 provincies and 350 Cities/Regencies Board in all over Indonesia.
APINDO initially focused on Industrial Relations and Employment, APINDO’s roles has become gradually strategic for the sake of promoting national interest, through expanding its focus on various sectors and developing human resources and partnerships by business units of APINDO such as International Strategic Partnership Center (ISPC) and APINDO Training Center (ATC).
Further, APINDO has been actively advocating in international scale through its membership and involvement in international organization. APINDO is a member of the International Organization of Employers (IOE), ASEAN Confederation of Employers (ACE) and Confederation of Asia-Pacific Employers (CAPE).
As a representative of business players, APINDO has its representation on the Tripartite Institution (consists of the government, the employers, and the Union/Workers), in which a number of APINDO’s Board sit in the National Tripartite Forum (LKS Tripnas), National Wage Council (Depenas), and the Occupational Safety and Health Council (Dewan K3).
On the newly leadership under Shinta W. Kamdani as the Chairman of APINDO 2023 – 2028, this organization brings 4 Flagship Action Program as followed: 1) Economic Roadmap as a form of APINDO’s advocacy; 2) UMKM Merdeka as the economic inclusivity of the Small, Medium and Enterprises (SMEs); 3) Inclusive Collaboration of the Entrepreneurs to Overcome Stunting; and 4) APINDO’s Human Resources – Industrial Relations (HR-IRR) Certification to create competent human resources in HR management and industrial relations.
