SpectrumLabs, a Repligen company, is a global leader in membrane separation technologies for the pharmaceutical, bioprocess, diagnostic and research industries. Spectrum focuses on two core technologies, Single-Use Hollow Fiber Tangential Flow Filtration and Tubular Membrane Dialysis.
Spectrum’s early accomplishments include the invention of cellulosic dialysis membranes in a wide range of molecular weight cut-off’s for the gentle purification of proteins, desalting enzymes and sample preparation. Sold under the trade name Spectra/Por®, dialysis membranes and accessories lead the market with sales in more than seventy countries.
In 1995, Spectrum started production of mixed cellulose ester hollow fiber filters for the purification and concentration of biopharmacuticals and diagnostic particles. Spectrum has successfully expanded this technology and market reach by introducing a wide range of hollow fiber membrane chemistries and pore sizes for ultrafiltration, nanofiltration and microfiltration. These KrosFlo® branded membrane filters and support pump systems are used in a multitude of upstream and downstream filtration applications. Spectrum further strives to advance Tangential Flow Filtration technology by developing new hollow fiber membrane chemistries. Recently Spectrum introduced a hydrophilic and low protein binding modified polyethersulfone hollow fiber membrane that provides superior flux and higher product recovery.
