Concordia Model United Nations was founded in 2010 by Concordia University students with a common interest in International Politics. With the willingness to compete in numerous conferences yearly, it quickly grew into a popular academic club. It was accredited and incorporated in 2014, and is currently a fee levy group within the Concordia Student Union. Today, the Concordia Global Affairs Association serves as an umbrella organization which houses Concordia's External Delegation (CED), Concordia’s Model United Nations Conference (ConMUN), and Concordia's Humanitarian Initiative Project (CHIP).
The Concordia External Delegation travels to model United Nations conferences across Canada and the United States. Delegates that are chosen to attend conferences represent the university as a whole, and in many cases, Canada as a country. It stimulates the brightest minds to work hard, achieve diplomacy, and most importantly, obtain success. During the 2021-2022 period, CED had its most successful year bringing home a plethora of awards, ranking Top 15th in North America and first in Canada.
ConMUN is the university's annual Model United Nations conference. Since its first iteration in 2019, ConMUN has grown exponentially, now hosting delegates from around the globe along with honourable, world-renowned guest speakers. ConMUN has been a Best Delegate ranked conference since 2019.
Concordia's Humanitarian Initiative Project is the philanthropic branch of the CGAA. It is a charity organization dedicated to the improvement and well being of students and people living in Canada. CHIP's goal is to help Concordia students combine their love of political studies with a need for change in the world through volunteer opportunities.
