As one of Victoria’s key government agencies, we are responsible for administering state legislation, collecting taxes and providing contemporary revenue management services to our customers.
In 2020—21, we collected $19.6 billion in revenue and allocated $296.2 million in grants, subsidies, rebates, and payments, including unclaimed money. Additionally, we played a major role in delivering over $960 million in targeted coronavirus tax and fee relief to Victorian businesses and individuals.
The revenue we collect helps to fund vital infrastructure and government services, such as education, law and order, and healthcare, while also contributing to specific support provided to the community and industry.
We have offices in Melbourne and Ballarat. In 2020—21, we employed 651 full-time equivalent staff.
