The role of the Bureau of Health Information is to provide independent reports to government, the community and healthcare professionals on the performance of the NSW public health system, including safety and quality, effectiveness, efficiency, cost and responsiveness of the system to the health needs of the people of NSW.
The Bureau of Health Information is an independent, board-governed organisation. Established in NSW, Australia in 2009, it provides independent, accurate and timely information to the community, healthcare professionals and the NSW government about the performance of the NSW public health system in ways that enhance the system’s accountability and inform efforts to improve health care.
