Welcome to Friels Bar & Restaurant in Swatragh Co. Derry!
Friels is nestled in the heart of the South Derry countryside in the picturesque village of Swatragh.
The bar is currently run by the fifth generation of the Friel family and has been in the family name for over one hundred years. In the public bar, you will get a real feel of the old world, with pictures and memorabilia of bygone times. Our roaring log fire in winter makes Friels a cosy place to spend an evening.
Historically, Friels was used as a soup kitchen during the Great Famine in the 1840s. Visit our famine corner, home to our original famine pot, a must-see on route to the Causeway coast
