The only agency of its kind in Will County, the Will County Children's Advocacy Center is a hybrid government/private 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded by Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow to provide hope, healing and justice for children (and non-offending family members) who have endured physical and sexual abuse, sexual exploitation, child pornography, neglect, and exposure to violence.
The Will County Children's Advocacy Center is fully accredited by the National Children’s Alliance and is a proud United Way of Will County partner agency that serves 700+ new children, annually. Multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) that include prosecutors, law enforcement detectives, DCFS investigators, forensic interviewers, family advocates, medical professionals, and trauma-focused therapists work together in a child-friendly facility, to reduce trauma and identify resources, so that children and families may begin the healing process.
Services provided:
* Forensic Interviews * Advocacy Services * Trauma-Informed Mental Health Therapy * Medical Exams (in collaboration with Edward Hospital Care Center) * Child Pornography & Exploitation Victim Services * Paws-4-Kids Canine Advocates
In 1999, FRIENDS OF THE WILL COUNTY CAC - a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization was created to accept donations from caring and generous individuals, businesses, and organizations. We rely on the generosity of private and public grants, as well as donations from individuals, organizations and corporations and our annual MEN WHO COOK fundraiser to provide our important programs and services.
