NATO, the National Association of Tobacco Outlets, Inc., is the only non-profit, national retail tobacco trade association committed to enhancing the common business interests of all tobacco retailers and to assisting members in responding to tobacco-related legislation and regulations on the local, state and federal levels.
To accomplish these objectives, NATO:
--Focuses on protecting the right of retailers to sell and the right of adults to purchase and enjoy tobacco products.
--Informs NATO members about pending tobacco legislation and regulations and assists members in responding to local, state and federal legislation and regulations.
--Takes a pro-active approach that informs and educates elected officials on the local, state and national levels about the impact that proposed tobacco-related legislation would have on tobacco retailers and the individual rights and the freedom of choice of adult tobacco consumers.
--Provides a forum through the NATO Show for manufacturers and distributors to exhibit their tobacco products and services and to conduct educational seminars for tobacco retailers and wholesalers.
