Tierra is a web-based geographic data analysis platform that helps companies and government departments make informed decisions about the single biggest concern facing Latin Americans: crime and violence. Tierra’s interactive map generates risk scores for specific locations, displays a history of incidents that have happened in a given place, suggests the safest route from one place to another, and reports on patterns and trends. Our platform is built on the most complete database on crime and violence in Mexico, which we created by combining public and private data sources with social media monitoring. Tierra is now functioning for every state in Mexico. From our headquarters in San Francisco and Mexico City, we lead a distributed, international team of data scientists and engineers who have helped build some of the most innovative tech firms of our time.
