The Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI) protects the health and safety of the public by regulating pharmacists and pharmacies in Ireland.
Is comhlacht poiblí é Cumann Cógaiseoirí na hÉireann (CCÉ), an rialtóir cógaisíochta, a bunaíodh faoin dlí chun sláinte, sábháilteacht agus folláine othar agus an phobail a chosaint trí chógaiseoirí agus cógaslanna in Éirinn a rialáil.
As the pharmacy regulator we undertake a range of activities and we engage and work with different stakeholders to meet our core objective: to assure public trust in pharmacy through effective regulation.
The PSI sets the standard for pharmacists’ education and training in Ireland and creates standards and supports to promote good professional practice in pharmacy. We register pharmacists, pharmaceutical assistants and pharmacies, carry out assurance and inspection activities of pharmacies, and take action when there is a concern about a pharmacist or a pharmacy, including when we receive a complaint from a member of the public.
The PSI is an independent statutory body under the aegis of the Department of Health.
