CancerCare helps local families affected by cancer and bereavement living in North Lancashire and South Lakeland.
Delivered by qualified and experienced staff, CancerCare’s wide range of free professional therapy services are designed to help individuals and their families come to terms with and manage the challenges of a serious health condition.
Our services include: Counselling for individuals and couples; a Children and Young People’s Service (for children as young as three), hypnotherapy, Alexander Technique, massage (including aromatherapy and Indian head massage, support groups, nutrition advice, creative art therapies (including art, singing, jewellery and woodwork groups), community outreach services in local hospitals, support for carers (including young carers) and bereavement support.
We have three dedicated centres - The Lakes Centre on Blackhall Road in Kendal, Slynedales on Slyne Road in Lancaster and the Trinity Church Centre on Abbey Road in Barrow.
CancerCare also provides outreach services in local hospitals and communities. With nearly 35 years of experience, CancerCare has worked with and helped more than 25,000 local people affected by cancer and other conditions.
Our services are provided free of charge and this is only possible only through fundraising and generous donations from local people, businesses and community groups.
