Evoke Tintype Photography was born out of the endless days in lockdown. We fell in love with the artistic process and not long after a new journey had begun. Evoke offers a unique and specialized photographic experience using a long-lost format known as the wet plate collodion process. Through this technique, we create one-of-kind tintype photographs. Every photo created will last for generations to come. We invite you to join us for your own special tintype photo session, one that we promise will be like nothing you've ever experienced before... especially living in the digital age of photography! The wet plate collodion process was one of the first photographic procedures used to capture images, and it was invented in 1851 by Fredrick Scott Archer. In its day, the wet plate process dominated the photographic world, and it was often times referred to as "tintype" photography. This was because photos were shot on thin sheets of metal. Despite the plates weren't actually tin the reference of tintype photos was coined. These days, aluminum plates are used because they're easier to make and cost less to produce. However, plate material aside everything else involved with the creation of our tintype photos is done exactly as it would've been done in the 1800s. Creating one-of-a-kind tintype portraits by hand is a magical process. One must see it to believe it, but we guarantee you won't be disappointed with the result! If you'd like more information on booking an in-studio tintype portrait session of your own, please feel free to contact us via LinkedIn or visit us at www.evoketintype.com. And if you're looking for a truly unique gift, we offer some of our select, one-of-a-kind, still-life artworks for sale. Details and availability are also listed on the website! , Your support of the arts, and in particular your support of our artistic efforts, is the biggest compliment we can receive as artists. We cannot express how much it is truly appreciated!
