East Central Planning and Development District was formed in 1968 to provide civic improvement and economic development in Clarke, Jasper, Kemper, Lauderdale, Leake, Neshoba, Newton, Scott, and Smith counties in East Central Mississippi.
The District:
1. Assists local units of government with economic development planning and project management.
2. Serves as the Area Agency on Aging to provide services to the elderly population.
3. Provides Home and Community Based Services to qualified Medicaid beneficiaries through the Elderly and Disabled Waiver program.
4. Manages multiple Revolving Loan Fund programs to promote business development and job creation.
