STREAT tackles the problem of youth disadvantage and homelessness by using its seven hospitality businesses to provide highly supported training and employment pathways for people aged 16 to 24. STREAT’s trainees all have very high needs and barriers to training and employment – including chronic homelessness, drug and alcohol dependency, family violence and mental health issues. Here’s the help we provide:
Healthy self – wrap-around support including individual case management, linkages to specialist service providers as needed, group life skills programs, and creative and social activities.
Healthy job – a range of hospitality programs including accredited Certificate II & III courses, and work experience programs. We also provide workplace training and mentoring for each young person across STREAT’s Melbourne cafes, bakery and kitchens. As a social enterprise, we reinvest 100% of our profits back into supporting and training our youth.
Healthy home – we work towards our youth having a safe and long term place to live through partnerships with a wide range of housing services across Melbourne.
