The Franklin County Treasurer's office is proudly represented by Cheryl Brooks Sullivan, Ohio's first African-American woman to hold this esteemed position. The responsibilities of the Franklin County Treasurer include:
Collection of local taxes, particularly the real property taxes. They are also responsible for taxes on manufactured homes, hotel/motel and special assessments;
Safeguard taxes collected in taxing districts such as Schools, Cities, Townships and Villages.
Prepare daily and monthly financial statements of deposits submitted to the Franklin County Auditor;
Invest disbursed funds to earn revenue for the county's general operating fund;
Serve on the County Investment Board to provide financial data, investment instruments, financial forecasting, and current and future interest rate schedules;
Provide oversight of complaints from property owners who feel their property taxes are too high;
Approve spending levels for Schools, Cities and Townships; and
Assess computer needs for the County.
