Founded in 2003, The Blue Chips is the University of Chicago's premier investment club. Over the years, we have expanded to a group of nearly 100 undergraduate students who actively manage a $150,000 fundamental value-focused equity portfolio gifted to us by Greg Wendt (A.B. '83).
Our analysts are members of one of seven sectors, which provide research coverage across a number of industries: consumers, health care, communications, industrials, natural resources, financials, and technology. Each academic quarter, sectors construct a detailed investment proposal, which is presented to the entire organization. Sectors then defend their pitches in front of the club's Investment Committee.
