Visit Bath (formerly known as Bath Tourism Plus) is the Destination Management Organisation for the city of Bath, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the surrounding area. We are responsible for the strategic leadership of tourism and our role is to grow and support the visitor economy through the national and international promotion of Bath and the surrounding area.
To attract visitors to the city and support the local tourism industry we operate a membership scheme, plan and deliver destination marketing campaigns, coordinate business tourism services, operate Bath Visitor Information Centre and manage Bath Christmas Market.
Visit Bath is largely funded by private sector income generated through the Visitor Information Centre and Box Office, our events, our commercial sponsors and our industry membership scheme. We also deliver an annual tourism contract for Bath & North East Somerset Council from which we derive around 15% of our funding.
Through the delivery of comprehensive marketing campaigns and major events we attract visitors from the UK and abroad, contributing to a local visitor economy worth over £430 million, which is growing around 3% every year.
By supporting our work, our members, a network of around 700 local businesses, benefit from a range of marketing opportunities and share in our success as 100% of their membership fee is directed straight into promoting Bath as a premier visitor destination.
