The FairTrades Trade Association was established in the UK in June 1983 and its pioneering approach quickly established it as the premier multi-trade association for glaziers, builders, roofers and many more trades besides.
Later, in January 2000 HomePro.com purchased FairTrades Ltd completing the full merger of both companies in October 2001. In January 2005, FairTrades became an appointed representative of HomePro and not long after the company launched FairTrades.co.uk on the internet as the official portal for trade professionals. Today, FairTrades has around 50 000 Members on the highly successful Tradesmen's directory and the FairTrades logo, featuring the 'Scales of Justice' is widely displayed by our current members on their business cards and advertisements, vans and in their showrooms.
The FairTrades logo really does symbolise peace of mind for the customer as well as taking the worry out of finding a reputable business. All FairTrades Association Members have successfully completed a rigorous vetting procedure which requires a record of trading, Experian financial checks, a clean legal history and references from previous customers. All of our members must also commit to the FairTrades Customer Charter which ensures that the public are treated fairly when employing a FairTrades member.
