Richland County Government is the governing body for the county areas in the center of South Carolina. Richland County includes the capitol city of Columbia as well as six smaller municipalities. The county is located roughly halfway between Greenville and Charleston, and roughly halfway between Charlotte, NC and Augusta, GA. Richland County is also proud to be home to the nationally ranked Riverbanks Zoo and Garden as well as the Congaree National Park. Richland County Government's mission is to provide services that are accessible to all residents and improve the quality of life in the community.
