Limerick School of Art and Design (LSAD) at the Technological University of The Shannon: Midlands Midwest (TUS), is a rapidly growing, dynamic institution of art design and creative media education in Ireland. For nearly 170 years we have been educating, inspiring and empowering people seeking a creative future.
We are proud to be recognised as one of Europe’s leading fine art, design and creative media schools. With 1,400 students, a vibrant mix of full-time, part-time and flexible learners, we are a hub of energy and imagination, a supportive creative community and a place of creativity and enterprise , LSAD has built on its historic reputation since 1852 as one of the original Arts and Crafts schools in Ireland to embrace the opportunities and challenges of contemporary art and design education. Over the last five years it has grown by 40% and enlarged its footprint to in the heart of Limerick city centre, and in our Moylish and Clonmel campuses.
LSAD is one of the 10 Faculties of TUS, located in the Mid-West region of Ireland. With over 6000 learners, the Institute has a multi-campus location in Moylish, Clare Street, Georges Quay and Merriman House, Limerick ,Thurles and Clonmel. LSAD is the oldest of all the faculties, and is the original component of the Institute, established in 1852 as a School of Ornamental Art.
LSAD is the creative heart of TUS and the school looks forward as the institute seeks to transition with our partners in Athlone to realise (the new Technological University of the Shannon.
