Meiji Gakuin University (MGU) and Kanto Gakuin University (KGU) are two universities in the Tokyo/Yokohama area. I work for them both. As of February 2011 I will draw to a close three adventuresome years instructing English at the National Academy of Defense (NDA), or "Boedaigaku", to military cadets from throughout Japan and Asia. I will continue with MGU and KGU as an English communications and writing instructor.
I keep my mitts on the academic field and continue my own research interests through the Asiatic Society of Japan (ASJ) and the library resources of the International House, among others.
Next event: Delivering a paper as part of a panel at the Association of Asiatic Scholars (AAS) on April 1st at their annual convention in Honolulu. The paper is titled: "Japanese Sake Labels: Tales of valor and aesthetic rapport".
