Our Mission
IKF provides interim time and talent to enhance the sustainability of local, under-resourced organizations.
Our Story
Two attorneys, one accountant, a probation officer, a physician, a psychologist, an MBA, a PR executive, a dietician and an ergonomist… What could these Raleigh women possibly have in common? A drive to make our area of the world a little sunnier by helping local organizations become a successful, sustainable, contributing part of our community. Founded in 2015, In-Kind Friends is a group of 10 women who take on one client per year, lending time and talent to tackle the goals set forth by the organization. The power of 10 ambitious-for-good women equates to a fairly fierce force – just ask our former clients: Durham’s Northern High School’s “Young Men of Progress” and the Military and Veteran’s Resource Coalition.
An LLC and 501(c)(3), IKF works to connect clients with community partners to create long-lasting partnerships, and to leave them with easily replicated products in order to ensure sustainability. With an eclectic roster like ours, there’s not much we can’t – or won’t – do. However, we do not buoy by treasure or cultivate a hand-out-dependent organization. By leaning in, we teach clients how to lean less.
Find us at www.inkindfriends.org or catch us at Sola Coffee Café, at the gym or on the greenway, fundraising for nonprofits, in carpool, helping 20+ local nonprofits, making “Hot Lunch”, delivering clothes + food to the underserved, or at Kat’s Fun House. But you won’t find us on Facebook, Insta or Twitter… yet.
