Watersheds Canada is a registered Canadian charity (863555223RR0001) committed to providing education programs in communities across the country to engage and help students, community groups, and property owners enhance and protect the health of lakes, rivers, and shorelines. Since 2002, we have delivered:
- education programming and workshops;
- freshwater stewardship programming, including shoreline naturalizations and assessments; and
- communications grounded in science, including natural heritage planning and resource development.
Despite our big name, Watersheds Canada is a small environmental organization that raises every dollar each year from donation, grants, and foundation support. We do not receive any yearly support for funding. What has always set us apart is our dedication to the local communities: we take the time to listen to the communities in which we work. This means our programming is always impactful, specific, and as efficient as possible.
