Independent journalism has the capacity to bring about a more democratic and equitable world. It informs, engages, connects communities, and empowers people to make decisions to better their lives and the lives of their neighbors. The key to this vision, and The Fund’s vision, is to expand opportunities for early career journalists from all backgrounds and to help them on their path to a career in journalism. We believe student journalists, when given access to high-quality education and opportunities, will not only sets the standards, but raises the standards of journalism.
