Pinger is a venture-funded (Tylt Ventures, Canyon Creek Capital, Arafura Ventures) Internet of Things startup creating fundamental technology to address large-scale problems and markets.
The company was founded to solve the airline industry's baggage problem. We developed an autonomous baggage tag that was capable of determining and reporting its position anywhere in the world, without the need for additional infrastructure, for which we were awarded six U. S. patents.
In 2016, we developed our second generation platform, a mobile-based solution that tracks bags at a fraction of the cost of the original system by using inexpensive Bluetooth Low Energy tags, existing enterprise-grade WiFi networks, and mobile apps. The platform won the 2017 LATAM Airlines Vendor Innovation Challenge.
In 2018 we leveraged the technology of our second generation tracking platform to develop an Indoor Positioning System that has the potential to revolutionize how assets are located indoors. Proximus RTLS, the Real Time Location System we developed, is up to 10x more accurate than existing systems, at a significantly lower cost. The platform is ideal for enterprises that need to precisely locate thousands of assets over millions of square feet, in real time.
We’re currently working with leading providers to introduce Proximus RTLS to the healthcare and hospitality markets in 2019.
