Established in 1967, The Deron School of New Jersey offers the following special education programs on 2 campuses. Both serve students with learning disabilities and autism spectrum disorders from ages 3-21.:

Since 1967, The Deron School has offered a state-approved private school program for students with multiple disabilities (MD), physical disabilities, intellectual disabilities, autism and down syndrome. (We do not serve students who’s primary disabilities are therapeutic, emotional or behavioral disabilities.)
Our nurturing environment, family culture, personalized curriculum design and methods are all quite intentional—to optimize the experience and results of your student. As a New Jersey Special Education School, Deron’s programs provide for academic, social and emotional growth at both the elementary and secondary High School school-age levels, with each program tailored to the students’ ages and developmental needs.
With the primary goal of preparing students for successful, productive futures, the Deron School provides the tools and learning environment to assist them in achieving their highest personal level of skill and independence. Our school facilities offer Special Needs Elementary and Special Needs High School programs,
as well as a continuum of programs in academics, fine & gross motor coordination, and social & independent living skills. Our reknowned transition program and extended school year (summer school) programs are offered at both schools.
Following the State of NJ Core Curriculum Standards, Deron’s curriculums are adapted to allow for student success at various ability levels.
Our schools, (located in Montclair, Essex County, New Jersey and Union, Union County, New Jersey) serve students from those counties as well as Passaic, Bergen and Morris counties.
