KMCC is recognised by the UK Cyber Cluster Collaboration (UKC3), the DSIT-funded national body of all local cyber security clusters, as the sole local cyber security cluster for the Kent and Medway region. KMCC's main aim is to develop the local cyber security ecosystem in Kent and Medway. It will focus its activities in the following three areas: 1) building a local community on cyber security matters in all sectors; 2) promoting innovation in cyber security to grow local cyber security capabilities; and 3) facilitating cyber skills development for all, from children to professionals and local citizens. KMCC will work closely with a number of local partners and stakeholders such as local authorities and public bodies, local businesses, higher education institutions (HEIs) and schools. Nationally, KMCC will work closely with the UKC3 and other local cyber security clusters to contribute to the development of the cyber security ecosystem in the whole UK.
