The Spear Programme is an award-winning initiative of Resurgo. We equip 16-24-year-olds facing barriers to employment with the skills, mindset and confidence they need to overcome the barriers they face and get into work or education.
Resurgo means to ‘rise up again’. We believe that everyone has a part to play in the transformation of society. If we each play our part, society will flourish.
We use our expertise in coaching and impact management to equip and empower businesses, charities, churches and individuals to transform society.
We are unique in bridging the gap between unemployed 16–24 and businesses seeking new recruits with a great work ethic.
Spear delivers a free pre-employment six-week course for unemployed 16- 24 year olds, which tackles attitudinal and practical barriers that often prevent young people getting into work.
Spear then incorporates a unique coaching consultancy and recruitment service that helps businesses achieve greater success with young employees, particularly those facing challenges getting into work. We partner with businesses to recruit work-ready young people, reducing staff turnover and ensuring long-term success.
Over the past 16 years, the Spear Programme has supported more than 7,000 young people. Since the first Spear Programme was launched in Hammersmith in 2004, we have grown to 11 centres across London, Brighton, Leeds and Bournemouth.
The Spear Programme is an initiative of Resurgo Trust, a registered charity. Our income is reinvested back into our initiatives to help more young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
“Before doing Spear I really didn't do much, just lost all hope and I didn't care anymore. Now I smile every day and I actually enjoy going to work which is something I wouldn't imagine me actually enjoying. I've got my life back and it’s all thanks to Spear.”
