Founded in 2019 and anchored in Georgia, Fair Count works to build long-term power in communities that have been historically undercounted in the decennial census, underrepresented at the polls, and whose communities are often torn apart in redistricting. We have built and fostered local, regional, and national partnerships through the unprecedented challenges of the 2020 Census, the chaos of the 2020 General Election, the intensity of the 2021 Georgia Runoff Election, the Redistricting Cycle, and the necessity of an equitable COVID-19 recovery. We seek to end extractive organizing in historically marginalized communities and lay in its place long-term relationships using every iteration of civic participation as catalysts for continued civic engagement and to serve as a trusted source to dispel misinformation. Our fight for a fair and accurate decennial census requires our full commitment to fair and equitable redistricting processes and maps, fair and free elections, and racial justice.
