No one should have to choose between a virus or violence.
Staying at home during quarantine is a frightening reality for those experiencing domestic violence. Many survivors of domestic violence must choose between quarantining in a toxic home environment or putting themselves at increased risk of infection when leaving this toxic home environment. That’s why now more than ever, we as citizens, policy makers, and public health officials have a duty to care for these vulnerable individuals.
Our Goals:
1. Accumulate world data on prevalence estimates and interventions.
2. Aggregate data across organizations to quantify the burden of domestic violence during COVID-19.
3. Identify the unique challenges facing survivors of domestic violence during COVID-19.
4. Develop a centralized database of resources for bystanders and victims/survivors of domestic violence.
5. Crowdsource solutions and facilitate cross-organization strategy-sharing.
6. Leverage community and healthcare contact points and infrastructure to identify and assist at-risk individuals.
