The Mississippi Secretary of State's Office was first established in 1817. Over the years, the office has been entrusted with a number of duties, responsibilities, and functions by the Legislature of our state.
Our functions range from the oversight of tidelands to scrap metal sales, from the registration of pre-need cemetery plans to the registration of corporations, from training election officials to conducting investigations of securities firms and charities. The agency constantly automates filing requirements to lower costs to citizens and increase immediate availability.
We are proud of the services we provide daily to our citizens and even more proud of the team in place.
